Cyclist makes a prat of himself

Not improving cyclists PR:

Mr Rosenstiel rode his bicycle into the path of the ambulance, blocking the entrance, and refused to budge because he claimed cars were not allowed on the grass.

The emergency crew eventually manoeuvred around him but, on leaving the ground, after they had treated the patient, he allegedly blocked their exit again by locking the gate.

Pillock. They should have driven over him, and then refused to pick him up because they weren't allowed on the grass....

What can you say? what a prat

I saw a similar prat in a taxi last week. I was coming down from Lothian Road which is a bit of a mess with road works at the moment. Whilst stopped at red an ambulance came blaring along it had the green anyway but a taxi just sat there blocking him (even though he'd green) and it was only when it raised the volume of sirens 3 times and flashed it lights a few times that the idiot moved.

Hope the guy in the ambulance was ok.What if it had been a critical call and the person had died?
Also why mention cyclists to get us bad press .It irrelevant.

I don't think this reflects on cyclists as a whole. IME, cyclists are much better at giving way to emergency vehicles in general than motorists, and I'd guess the drivers of said vehicles mostly know that.
