Cyclist found seriously hurt on B1230 near Walkington

A CYCLIST is in hospital after being found seriously injured on a country road.

The 64-year-old man was found unconscious on the B1230 near Walkington just before 11pm on Tuesday.

Police said he had suffered serious injuries and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a stable condition.

The man, who is from Manchester, had been on a cycling holiday in the East Riding.

Police investigating what happened to him are appealing for anyone who saw the cyclist to come forward.

He is believed to have been riding a bike with panniers in the direction of Walkington from High Hunsley.

Call Humberside Police on 101 with information.

Worrying as it's very similar to another incident I posted about here (newspaper link) a couple of months ago.
Police don't seem to have much to work with in either case.

Could just be 2nd hand info the newspaper is reporting, with no official description from the Police on bike/rider until relatives informed.
