Cyclist down, Frome By-Pass

A cyclist was killed after a collision with a motor cycle on the Frome By-Pass on Saturday.

OMG !

There was a cyclist in collision with a motorcyclist in Thirlmere yesterday. The cyclist on a carbon road bike was seriously injured but had no id so police have not been able to name him and AFAIK are still trying to contact next of kin.

Could speed have something to do with it? Motorcyclists can and do go rather fast?

omg!

well it isnt anyone from the local ctc group as far as I am aware. Sunday myself and another both rode Treks (his a black carbon one) along that bypass and were totally unaware of any accident the previous day.

gosh that is awful.

bloody hell, quite shocked. If I find anything out I will post up here.

Even more disturbing than usual when it's a road you use (bike and car) yourself, and the rider's your age.

If it is speed it won't surprise me on that road.

Wife works at Sainsbury's in Frome and one of her collegues reckons he was a Postman who came into the store.

OMG! I didn't think a motorbike and a push bike would come together with such a negative result, especially as the Police say:

A black Suzuki motorcycle and a black Trek pedal cycle collided just prior to the roundabout at the junction.
