Cyclist down - Barlow Moor Road

I was passed by an ambulance this morning whilst riding down Barlow Moor Road. I caught it up at the junction I turn off at to go through Chorlton Water Park.

They were tending to a cyclist in the road who was in a very very bad way. There was a taxi stopped in front of them which I assume was involved.

Really hope the news is good if anything filters though. Horrible thing to see.

Was that coming into town or going out?

you turn right about 1/2 mile past Hardy Lane?

That's right. I was heading east along it and he was at the junction with Maitland ave.

There's that stupid kind of no mans land that runs next to the road there with a cycle farcility, parking bays but also doubles up as a road. - that, coupled with trees along it makes it very very busy on the eyes.

Hope the cyclist is OK.

If ever there was a road that could have ample space for motorists and cyclists with major modification, it's Barlow Moor Road. That road could serve as a prime example of how to implement Dutch-style cycling facilities in the UK.
