A female cyclist has died following a collision in Cullompton. Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal accident to contact them after a woman died in hospital last night. The female cyclist was riding along the M5 bridge between Duke Street and Old Hill, in Cullompton when the incident happened at around 17.35.She was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital where she later died.
The woman's next of kin have not yet been informed.A police spokesperson said: "We are dealing with a single vehicle incident where a female foreign national has sadly died in hospital. We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact us."The road was closed in both directions for several hours while the serious collisions unit carried out investigations. Witnesses can contact police on the non-emergency 101 number.
