" he said. "I doubt anyone up here has ever hit a bear on a bike - or been hit by one."
Was the bear a farrier purchance ?
Proof![]()
What more proof do you need? He was wearing a helmet and survived a bear attack. It must have been the helmet that saved him.![]()
Rubbish.....
It is quite obvious that the bear took exception to the helmet and attacked him because he was wearing it!
There is previous evidence - in this it is obvious that the helmet was the intended target
The same happened here were the helmet has again been the direct focus of the attack
Please note though that there is once again conclusive evidence that recumbents are safer as there are no recorded bear attacks on recumbents
the voices in your head worn you of up coming dangers on a recumbent i find, line you hat with tinfoil amplifies them, i think it is being laid down you pick up the cosmic waves better and never carry a fresh salmon shoved down your vest it is only asking for trouble.
apparently attacks on hikers/mountain bikers are becoming more common in the usa, though still rare, the theory is that the loss of habitat, the increase in wast food redely avaleble in town is brining animals closer to humans. a much bigger problem is packs of feral dogs, in some places a lot of riders carry pepper spray when riding out of town solo.
As I discussed in another thread - there are actually forum discussions on the best firearm to carry on your bike!
