Purchased this item only last week and first impressions were very good, easy to set up and on the very first day captured a taxi driver nearly taking me out.

In fact I have used the unit twice and each time it has worked as it should, and why shouldn't it!!

However, come to leave home this morning and it refuses to switch on?? Press the on/off button and it bleeps twice and then nothing??

I have raised a ticket with Cycliq so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to respond, but in the meantime has anyone else experienced the same or a similar problem? If so, what did you do to resolve it?

Flat battery/charging 'issues'?

I very much doubt it, but I didn't have time to check before I left this morning. Then as I left the house and rode down the road, I thought to myself that if I had my charging lead with me at least I could try it at work, but it was to late by then

But the last time I used it was Saturday for 2 1/4 hours, (and the battery is supposed to be good for at least 6 hours apparently) when it was put on charge via the mains USB plug, as opposed to a USB port on the laptop. When the red light goes out, which it did it means that its fully charged.

I will know more when I get home. But in the meantime Cycliq have replied to my ticket and suggested a number of checks to do including a possible software update? Guess I know what I'll be doing later on then....

Well.......it would seem that the battery was flat, which has really confused the life out of me. Its taken at least five hours for the red LED charging light to go out, but Ive charged it until the charging light went out twice before, so not to sure what to make of that? Faulty battery or faulty charging lead maybe?

Never the less, Ive also done the software updates that Cycliq have recommended, and also formatted the SD card. Lets see what tomorrow morning brings then shall we??

Did you unplug the lead after charging, some things can discharge back if not disconnected. If not that then it could well be a faulty battery or you have 6hrs of footage of a blank wall/inside of a box if you had inadvertently switched it on after charging.

BTW double 'beep' normally means 'flat battery' on a bunch of gizmos.

The charging cable was disconnected once the charging light went out for the very reason you mention. Yet Cycliq have suggested ignoring the LED charging light and leaving it "charging" over night? So I will also do that this evening.

I have checked the files and no video shots of a garage wall....phew!
