Cycling with unrelated injury...

I whacked my head today on the corner of a metal box. Lots of blood, 5 stitches, no concussion or anything like that. Generally healthy otherwise. My helmet sits on my head without touching the wound. It's a bit uncomfortable, but not enough to make me not ride.

I had a long ride planned for Sunday. Not a race, so quite leisurely paced. Do you think I should still do it?

If so, should I try and cover it? The hospital left it uncovered and its beyond my hairline.

If you are likely to get sweaty which would make the wound moist, it might be better to leave the helmet off just this once.

Ouch, painful that. If you're determined to go i'd leave it uncovered, but as @Drago said listen to your body and see how you feel on Sunday.
