Had quite a nice day, up after 9am fried foods for breakfast and took the little one for a swim.
Lunch and dozed off, woke finding a lump/sore throat and mucus poring:rain:

Plan is to cycle it off on Monday, but think I'm in for a stinker of a cold tomorrow......lets see

Head cold, fine. Chest or flu like symptoms, lay off.

I tried to cycle it off earlier in the month - or was it last?? - whatever, it didn't end well.
I haven't really been on the bike much since with one virus or another plaguing me. I've had an ear infection and swollen throat for over a week and started throwing up last night so won't be pedalling anywhere much this week either.
My advice -take it easy.

Rule of thumb:
Above he neck = ride
Below the neck = rest

There is a risk of serious complications if you exercise hard with a virus/chest infection

I tend to use it as the rule for whether or not I go to work. If I'm not fit enough to cycle in then I'm not fit enough to be in work.

Here for rides.

I wish more people would MTFU and NOT come in when they are ill.

So fed up with martyrs rocking up at the office post overseas (3rd world) work trips and infecting me, and mine, with the bugs they've brought back.

I got into an argument with someone at work about that once. Another colleague had been coughing non-stop for 2 or 3 days before he was finally too weak to drag himself in. I said that it was stupid - he had hardly managed to get any work done and all he was doing was spreading infection and trying to impress the management with his attitude. No, no, I was wrong - if one can actually still get out of bed then work is the place to be yada yada yada ...

Over the next couple of days, one by one, all the people sitting at desks near the original person with the coughed went off sick with the same bug. One martyr infected half the damn office!

Glad I'm not the only one with the opinion you should keep your germs at home and spare the rest of the office. Used to hate it that my collgue would come to work ill, have to go home part way through the day, and simply give it to me despite knowing I have moderately severe asthma and anything like that knocks me for six.

if i try to ride with just a cold. i find that my breathing is really impaired, so now i don't bother, and by the way sometimes having a lay off is more beneficial.
