Cycling Waterproof Trousers

OK - I know that usually I just get wet legs and there are a lot of us out there that do the same especially when on the commute home, but I am soon to go on a cycle touring holiday (in October) and need something that I will actually wear when it pours down rather than curse or swear at constantly and avoid wearing.

So my question is, can anyone recommend a pair of waterproof trousers/overtrousers suitable for cycling that you actually use and like please?

It is not completely necessary for it to be a ladies versions either, mens version somtimes fit me much better.

Many thanks in advance.

I own a pair of Gore Ultra Pants. Ultra Pants!

Pros: Very waterproof, pretty breathable, and very flexible in terms of operation - lots of bits to adjust to get the fit just right. Not cheap, but not crazy expensive either.

Cons: You do need to wear something underneath them - I've worn them a few times when it's been wet and warm with nothing underneath and they feel rather unpleasant and plasticy against the skin!
They also rustle walking about in, and the material between the legs isn't terribly flexible which restricts movement a tad when mounting and dismounting.
I guess all these cons would apply to any waterproof trousers really.

A £120!!!! for a pair of pants better to get wet than soaked by a rip off but having said that I am still on the look out for a pair of bike leggings

That's what you have to pay to get waterproof AND breathable. You can pay a LOT more than that.
