How do you wash cycling shorts? Is it safe to use the washing machine ?

And use a non bio detergent, I use a dedicated sports wear liquid detergent called "halo" about £3for 25 washes.

My cycling gear including Endura shorts just gets chucked in the normal 40 degree wash. Hasn't noticeably done any harm. Cold washes etc. just don't seem to get stuff clean and fresh for me, so will accept any slight acceleration of wear for using hot wash with detergant etc. Don't tumble dry them though.

I now have a separate laundry basket for my cycling stuff....

Lard's Top Tip :Get yourself a laundry net with a zip, stick your kit in it and it goes in with the rest of the wash. It can then be separated & hung up individually in the airing cupboard.

Before I had this, Mrs Lard ruined 3 pairs of decent bibs by tumble-drying them. They now fit Barbie.
