I get sore wrist and thumbs and sometimes pins and needles in my hands when cycling. Anybody else experience this? And are there any remedies? Support gloves/straps etc?

Gloves can help, but it can be your riding position, and with being new, it takes time to adjust.

Look up cyclist's palsy. check not over stressing hand and arms by position on bike, good gloves, vary hand positions

If you're new to cycling then that's all pretty common. Give it some time.

What are you riding? I get pins and needles in my left hand if riding the hybrid for more than a few miles. No such problems on a road bike.

I was having trouble with my hands until I read somewhere to ride on the hoods on the 'karate chop' part and this has worked a treat. No more cramps or aches.
