Got up early today, nursing hangover from office Xmas meal. Coffee in hand, switched telly on right into the end of something on cycling. Only caught the bit about Alan Sugar keeping a bike in his private jet?. Anyone catch this?.

He was on about cyclists being insured and having identification on them. He said nothing new or original. The BBC facebook page then quickly filled up with all the usual crap from the anti cycling lobby. Knowing that the BBC is the mouthpiece for the government I sometimes wonder if they have ideas floated to gauge the reaction to ideas.

Alan Sugar is mostly speaking from his experiences in the US, where I believe he does most of his cycling. I don't see anything bad about it personally. But the US is different to us, they require everyone to carry ID all the time, you must have your insurance papers in the car with you at all time. I don't think we should have rules different for cyclists and other road users. But I do see his point.
