So, I was cycling home on friday when I heard a loud "Pop". Bu99er I thought, looked down at rear tyre - looks ok but now I'm worried. Carry on for a bit, keep looking down - tyres ok. Paranoia starts to kick in so I stop, get off the bike and check the tyres - all ok.

Oh well, never mind I think, had an escape there. I need a quick drink. Hang on a minute, why is the top of my drinks bottle open ?

Note to self - fizzy lucozade in a drinks bottle can cause the lid to pop open loudly ....

 I like that

I spent time trying to identify an intermittent squeak coming from the crank area before finally realising it was the edge of my shoe rubbing on the crank  I was getting pretty close to taking the bike to my LBs

Had a loud bang the other day from the back wheel, was a spoke breaking. Scared me half to death, sounded like a gun going off

Was out yesterday. I suddenly heard an odd sound. Checked the wheels. All ok, so kept cycling, hearing the noise again. I lowered my head while cycling to try and pinpoint Tue sound. Turns out, it was just loose bricks on the ground.

I've done that. Had an annoying click which turned out to me my shoe lace hitting the frame. Thankfully I noticed before taking it into the LBS!

I was out the other week and kept hearing a rattle, which got louder and louder.....sounded like it was coming from front wheel ish area. Really loud over bumps...... so i stopped, had a good examine of the front wheel and brakes....all fine..... bent down to check the pedals....and there was the rattle again.........

It was my sunglasses banging off my helmet as i leant forward. I'd taken them off and put the arms in my helmet holes, and as i cycled they were working loose and rattling.......

I had an intermittent clicking that was bugging me for miles at the weekend....finally worked out that it was my left kneecap! I was so glad it wasn't something about to fall off the bike - but perhaps I should be concerned??

I've done that - I thought a strange bird was calling from the hedge - I'd gone a mile before I realised it was the welt of my shoe rubbing on the crank.

I was out on a club ride a few years ago, riding along chatting and heard a loud ping, thought my mate had broken a spoke, stopped the group and went to help him find it and it wasn't a spoke it was his frame that had snapped, went across the downtube shifters. We had to call out his son to pick him up in the car.
