Cycling bucket list

Was at work today and someone (non-cyclist!) asked why I cycled. I went through the usual...save money, get fitter, just enjoy it. She came back with, "But what big things are you going to do?". I actually had no reply as I hadn't really thought of it before. I've already hit a couple of milestones...10, 20, 50 mile rides...5 day tour...and I've really enjoyed passing these but they kind of just happened due to circumstances.
So it got me thinking a bit more and thought it would actually be really interesting to have a think about a bucket list i.e. things to do cycling before you pop your clogs.
Obvious thing came to mind i.e. LEJOG but what else goes on (it's gonna be a pretty short list if I don't get any inspiration!)?

So what should be on the list?

Convince a few more that cycling to work is better all round than driving?

I have already mentioned my next event ambition, the Dunwich Dynamo next year.

As for LEJOG, I will be in JOG next Tuesday for one night, camping. Unfortunately not by bike though. I was supposed to go a few weeks ago but a bereavement meant I had to postpone.

I don't really have a 'bucket list' as I tend to steer well clear of the box-ticking approach to life. I just hope to continue enjoying cycling really.

Having made several Euro road trips by car I would love to do the same under cycle power, wether I will ever be fit enough to tackle the likes of Ventoux and the Mortirolo but hey we all have to have targets :becool:

As a regular visitor to the isle of wight I've always wanted to cycle round it, some stunning scenery and testing hills! Just never got round to it though

Having walked round several parts of the coastal path round Cornwall, i'd love to ride it all, perhaps beyond and round the south coast...B&b it or even carry a tent. Beautiful counrtyside and views.

C2C in one day (one day, doing it in 2 days in oct)
Fred Whitton Challenge (hopefully next year if i get in)
Bealach Mor (When I have the pennies)
LEJOG (again when I get the time and pennies, have got the rack and panniers and a few things to bivi with).

These seem reasonably achievable....

Thanks for the replies...I do get the happiness thing...at the end of the day that's the only reason I cycle as well (I tried running and that ticked most of the same boxes but didn't do it for me)...but I am really interested in what milestones people would like to make. It's also good to look at things I've never heard of before...Bealach Mor (I'm just of to Goggle it!!!)... so if you have any keep them coming...

Hebrides, Orkney, Shetlands; round the north west coast.

Not Skye though - only ever seen it from a safe distance; me in the sun, and it p*****g down on the isle.
