I've just come back from holiday and really enjoyed reading a book (something that I pretty much never do, apart from when I'm on holiday) while sitting in the sun and drinking the local beer.
I'm now looking for some new reading material and I remembered stumbling on a thread about cycling books somewhere on the forums but can't find it now, and the search option isn't working, just keeps saying error. If anyone could point me in the direction of that thread that would be great or recommend any good books that you've read that would be great. Thanks.

dont know the thread but I have recently read the autobigraphies of wiggo, cav and nico roche.

All different and all interesting, Cav and wiggo the best though, Roche's is much more a repeat of his newspaper diaries

Thanks for those suggestions. Think I might go for the Millar one next. Read Ned Boultings how I won the yellow jumper on holiday, enjoyed that. Thought it was well written and a canny insight into what he gets upto on the tour, had me laughing in places too.

not cycling books but I thoroughly enjoy Stuart Maconie's 'anglo-phile' books:

Pies & Prejudice, the search for the true north
Adventures on the High Teas, the search for middle England
Hope & Glory, the days that made Britain

if I ever finish my book i'll recommend that too

Just read French Revolutions by Tim Moore - excellent, with some real 'laugh out loud' bits.

Currently reading the Riis and Merckx biographies.

It was indeed... but more about his life growing up in Wigan, teaching english in Skem and then working for the NME.
All his subsequent books are travel/history books about good old Blighty... and i can heartily recommend them.
