Discover Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa due to its stunning green valleys, vast lakes and tall mountains for the international development charity Transaid
Uganda is where the Savannah meets the vast East African lakes and where snow-capped mountains bear down on sprawling jungles. Apart from being home to half to the world’s surviving mountain gorillas, Uganda is also blessed with half of Africa’s bird species, waterfalls, hot springs, forests and amazing national parks. This bike ride takes you on a challenging 400km cycle over 5 days in the north east of the country. We will cycle through rural Uganda, passing through wetlands and lush tropical fruit plantations, into the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and the amazing Murchison Falls National Park.
Transaid is an international development charity that identifies, champions, implements and shares local transport solutions which improve access to basic services and economic opportunity for poor people in developing countries. Transaid was founded by Save the Children and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and our Patron is HRH The Princess Royal. Cycle Uganda will give you the opportunity to see why Transaid exists, as well as learn more about our projects first hand.
Far away from the modern comforts of daily life, this will be an unforgettable experience and worth every penny you raise for Transaid!
