people go on about driver awareness for drivers, how about cycling training for cyclists? A good idea?
What is driver awareness for drivers? Is this a course on how to recognise other drivers as you sit behind the wheel?
The one I took in the 80s was full of plop like riding a foot from the edge of the road. Bikeability seems much better, based on the manuals. I may take a level 3 as a refresher one day.I took my cycling proficiency test in 1965 and passed with flying (is that the right word?) colours. It was just what a 9 year old cyclist needed as training.
I think that would be a hard sell to someone who never intends to ride a bike and has no interest on what it is like to ride one on a road.It should be mandatory for all car/van/lorry/bus drivers.
Precisely the ones who need it most; no cycle awareness training, no licence.I think that would be a hard sell to someone who never intends to ride a bike and has no interest on what it is like to ride one on a road.
I think hazard perception tests and reversing around corners would be a hard sell to most drivers but they're still in our driving tests. We need to sell it to the regulators not the candidates.I think that would be a hard sell to someone who never intends to ride a bike and has no interest on what it is like to ride one on a road.
