I read another thread somewhere where a company with the same or similar name may have gone bust. Every you say seems sadly to suggest they have gone into receivership.

It'll be a shame if they have gone bust. I bought some panniers from them in February and they were very good and prompt.

I got my Spesh Allez Elite from them last week. The phone is indeed always engaged, but I've had no probs with getting responses to emails.

Seemed rather helpful to me, they do have a shop too in Congleton if you want to go down there and check them out.

It's a bit out of order suggesting that they have gone bust without being a hundred percent sure or providing any evidence to back up your assertion. That is just idle gossip and rumour mongering. Don't forget that that business is quite a few peoples bread and butter.

I often check Cyclestore when looking around - I've bought some things recently which were either cheaper than wiggle/ribble or actually in stock and they arrived pretty quickly. I think all my lights have come from there which might suggest they are pretty good value for that sort of thing.

Never heard anything about cyclestore going under, but I did find a page suggesting Bonthrone had gone under, although that was from several years ago.

Hi, I'm a newbie here and also a newbie to cycling!

I bought my very first bike last week and ordered it from cyclestore.co.uk so I can assure you they are definitely still in business.

It's true that the phone is often engaged as I found out after trying to call them the other day so I sent an email and received a return call within 20 minutes.

Overall I'm very pleased with the service I've received from them. The only slight niggle I had was that I wasn't expecting to have to assemble so many parts on my bike (my son's bike from another shop arrived fully assembled and just needed the pedals attaching) but they said this was down to the couriers refusing to accept larger boxes, but said they're going to be looking into that once I pointed out that it was the same couriers that had also delivered my son's bike! :?:

The Cyclestore near me is very much up and running although I found my dealings with them not particularly helpful. As a newly converted cycling fan I was hoping for lots of help and advice with regards to sorting the luggage situation out on my old MTB and basically their advice was poor and lacking in any kind of conviction. I got much better help from a LBS. I personally won't be going back there for anything sadly and that's a shame as my Dad had a good experience there when purchasing a bike - maybe that's it - he was spending lots of dosh and I wasn't in comparison...mmm

Had much more success with LBSs who are clearly passionate about cycling and advise with care and consideration. My LBS serviced my old bike thoroughly and I went back to them yesterday for a new helmet.

They stocked a range of styles and they spent time finding one that fitted me securely and was best for my head! I'd mucked about trying ones on in Halfords (:? and thought I knew which one I wanted but when I went back to my LBS, their superior knowledge on these things came to the fore once again and I was more than happy to hand over my dosh for that kind of service and will deffo be going back there in the future.
