Any recommendations?

I am happy with basic tinkering with my own bikes. But recently I have been asked on a couple of occasions by people who cycle less frequently than me to take a look at some odd noises etc on their bikes. I have been reluctant to do so, as my standards of repair are low (but acceptable) and I take ages (which keeps me out of trouble).

I want to be able to do things properly, rather than bodge my way through a repair, so I am considering a course....

Can recommend:

Don't discount YouTube. I've rebuilt my washing machine thanks to the tutorials on there!

(Wish someone would upload a vid on how to do the plugs on a 92 CBR though.)

I've done a bit of searching for courses as well as I'm a similar situaion to you but couldn't find anything local.
Occaisonally the local triathletes do bike courses but they are limited numbers and get booked up quickly.

Mainly it's You Tube and Zinn and the Art of Bike maintenance for me.

I'm an expert of 20 years and in need of some cash. I build bikes and wheels to very high standards (very high).

We could arrange some sessions to cover whatever you need. Perhaps you could both come together. Pay per session so if you're not happy then simply stop coming (it would be more of a 'donation' than real payment of course)!

PM me if interested and we can discuss what you want to learn. Anything except rebuilding rear suspension hydraulics!
