Hi, new to this. Have been riding for over two months now. My friend Helen and I did our first sportive on august 7th and raised money for Macmillan. Does anyone know of any clubs in the Chorley area?
Thanks x

In the absence of any other replies - there's one of the guys who works at Evans in Trafford park (big chill) who commutes there every day, and i'm sure he'd know about the local area. Named Steve if i'm not mistaken.

I believe that Chorley Cycle club has been resurrected and they meet at that new pub near Tescos down Foxhole Rd. No website but a twitter page instead. This copied from 10th Aug.

@ChorleyCycling club thursday night club run, meet 6.15 fieldfare pub foxhole rd chorley ALL WELCOME

Other nearby options would be Lancs road club whom meet up at the bolton arena by the reebok. Then you have Horwich Cycling club that meet I think from the crown pub there.

Wow chorley! Grew up in chorley, unique town to say the least but wouldnt swap it for anything

Chorley FM............coming in your ears......

I fancied joining a cycle club......then I read what people have said about them on here.

Then I saw them all clan together at the front of a couple of Sportives.

Kinda put me off a bit.

Actually, come to think of it, I used to sit in my bedsit and listen to the smiths so it's probably me that's just a miserable, unsociable get !

Well what have people said about them/us we are a brand new club with very few members tht have ever been involved with cycling clubs so have a total new approach to club cycling. Why not venture out and give us a try instead of being a miserable, unsociable get ! Lol ;)

Haha evening runs are a well lit 20 mile circuit plus our own lights so nice and safe even in the winter ( well as safe as can be on our roads)

50+ miles on the weekend rides with the communal cafe stop of course, what more can u ask for it great fun .... honest ;)

Thanks Steve. I've always tended to avoid clubs for the usual reasons, lack of information, unsuitable timings, generally feeling that your not welcome etc, etc!

I'll have a think, but my biggest problem with any club is the time factor. During the week is out completely, and 50+ miles every weekend is a big ask. I could do with a club that does a 30 mile ride each week as I like to get out, get round and get back for that crucial family balancing act.

I've got your number so I'll give you a shout if I think I can make this work for me. Thanks again
