I am now a month away from work with so called "tennis elbow" in both arms. The pain and sensations in both arms are getting better but its pretty slow.
I have a heavy job, do heavy gym weight workouts and also cycle!
Ive been going like this for some years (except for the cycling) and the last time I had so called "tennis elbow" was about 8 years ago.

I am pretty sure that it was a combination of my 3 things that brought the condition to where it was before I stopped everything and rested.

Now I am thinking that I had better make very sure that my bikes are set up perfectly for when I return to cycling.
I have scanned the internet for hours and hour and have read many guides and videos.

The main issue is the totally conflicting advice!

I dont know who to trust and who not to trust in all this.
I have 2 bikes, one is a time trail mountain bike and the other is a Cannondale caad 8.

I have had the bikes set up for me by a bike shop but I have to admit that I dont have total confidence and really want to check it all to ensure that my cycling doesnt bring out the tennis elbows for me again.

Any experts or previous sufferers or any advice is much appreicated!

Have you thought about getting a 'bike fit' from a professional ?

Yes I certainly have but in the area I live in Norway there are very few proper bike stores and they seem to be more about selling bikes than really knowing about professional bike fitting. I guess I could make some enquiries though. The problem there is in Norway everything is so crazy expensive.

If you're able to locate a fitter - do that as they're able to watch you pedal and see your body working dynamically- it will be expensive but if it helps eradicate the tennis elbow then it may well be worth it.

In the interim look up The competitive cyclist- they have a fit calculator there but it will not be a replacement for being accessed as the process is in much more detail and looks at your style of cycling and your aims.

I wish I could afford a fitting!

Paying for a bike fit might be cheaper in the long run if you are thinking about changing parts on your bike or even your bike.

I have done my own bike fit due to getting problems (and being a cheapskate) and every time I get a hint of pain I start to wonder if I have got it right.

Im struggling to find a bike fitter here other than shop staff who are happy to "give it a try"!

I will give The competitive cyclist a look that ttcycle suggested shortly.

Many thank guys
