Did my first ever big ride last week, cycled 130 miles from Manchester to Abersoch in Wales last Friday, then cycled another 130 miles back on the Sunday...2 century rides within 2 days!

Anyway, I haven't been on my road bike since and was itching for a ride, so decided that I'll commute to work tomorrow. I just had a quick check over on my bike and my Michelin Pro 3 tyres have got a few small cuts on them??? I pumped them right up to 116psi as recommended and they seem fine. do you think they need changing or will they be fine? ;)

Thanks.

I think there are 4 layers on the Pro 3's and you usually find that cuts are just to the top layer so you have plenty of back up. If the cuts have not gone all the way through I wouldn't worry -it just means that if you are really unlucky you may get a puncture if you contact with something sharp on exactly that spot.

keep riding them until the amount of flats exceeds your reluctance to pay out for more tyres

pick out crap at the weekend if you're really keen
