Hi all
I've a 2014 cube peloton compact with sora gears.
I'm looking to either upgrade to bike or upgrade the gears etc.
If I was to upgrade the bike max I will go is £1000 on c2w . I've seen cube peloton sl which has 105 group set for just under a grand .
Any advice would be great . I'm getting on ok with my bike after stem change , just fancy better components or better bike in general .
Thanks for any advice

Approaching perfection from a distance.
What's the difference between a Cube Peleton compact and the sl?
Personally I'd buy a Campagnola Zonda wheelset which, the last time I looked, Wiggle were selling at circa £250, and then seeing what deals were available on a 105 group-set if you're really not happy with Sora. You'd then have a considerable upgrade for probably half the price of the new Cube.
But hey ho - N+1 and all that!

If the OP wants to use c2w it'd need to be the whole bike. But even with the savings that would cost more than the parts.

If happy with the frame, I'd stick with what you've got, use the old wheels for the commute, new wheels for the weekend. I also don't know what the difference is, is the SL frame carbon? If the same frame, it seems a lot for a £300 groupset
Go for something different for n+1 like steel or carbon

Hi guys , thanks for the replies . I think the sl frame is similar just the newer model. Both have carbon forks .
Seems the upgrade route might be better option then.
Now to try and source some bargains

Hi @Sniffer77

I have the 2014 Cube Peloton Race with 10 speed 105 group set.

There is no difference in the frames on any Peloton even the SL is the same & hasn't changed for 2015 either.

If a 105 *5800* group is £295 from Hargroves Cycles & Campag Zondas are approx £250, you would be looking at around £550 + £50 fitting if you can't do it yourself, so £600.

For your £600 you would end up with much better gearing & wheels, plus reduce the weight of you bike or....

You could sell your bike & add £££ or go through C2W/Cyclescheme & get a carbon framed bike for under £1000.

Some dealers accept C2W even on 2013/ 2014 stock such as the Cube Agree GTC with Tiagra £749 or GTC Pro with 105 £949 (both Chain Reaction Cycles).

Have a look at what is available from www.paulscycles.co.uk or www.winstankeysbikes.co.uk
Both of these have large stocks of older 2014/13 models at heavily discounted prices & brands such as Cube, Giant, Cannondale, Bianchi, Merida, Scott to name but a few.

Personally I would look to upgrade the whole bike, but the choice is obviously yours.

Good luck finding a good lbs that will fit full groupset and wheels bought elsewhere for £50. At least in the London area! If you know of anywhere let me know!

Just guessing at the cost, but based on the £20 it cost to have my bars, stem, seatpost changed & steerer tube cut down & bars re-wrapped with new Hope spacers & seatpost clamp the only parts I bought from them at Winstanleys.

Some won't even entertain fitting parts purchased elsewhere.
