Cube Cable Guide Bracket

Has anyone replaced one of these ? At a guess, it looks like the guide is actually held in place by the cables. The centre hole is where the cover screws in.

Is it recessed into the BB. The cover retaining screw might be the one that holds the whole thing in place.
Now that the screw has been removed does it not lift out?

I think you are probably right. Still not fully investigated yet. Thanks for your input
