Hi All,

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if Planet X and Ribble allow people to top up their CTW Voucher
(I know your not supposed to).

was thinking of the planet X SRAM Red deal !??, but I like the new ribble stealth frame also !?.

Thanks

I just took delivery of a Planet X SL Pro SRAM Red through the cycle to work scheme and topping up presented no problem at all. You order your bike via the website and use the cycle to work checkout option. You then have 4 weeks to send your voucher to them and when they receive your voucher, they call you up to take credit card payment for everything over the value of the voucher (including the 10% fee that you need to pay planet x). I was able to upgrade the tyres, brakes etc and just paid the extra cash myself.

Thanks for that,

It looks a great bike and absolutely fantastic value for money. I'm just wondering did you consider anything else, it's just my concerns are the sl pro frame is slightly out of date in that it's not bb30 like others including the new stealth from ribble.

I wouldn't consider the SL Pro frame to be out of date just because it doesn't have a BB30 bottom bracket. To me
BB30 is just the flavour of the month, the SL Pro frame has the same sized bottom bracket as every other bike that I own and I'd imagine that a standard which has been around for so many years will be around for many more to come.

I own a couple of steel audax bikes and a Titanium audax bike too and fancied a proper fast bike. The other bikes I considered were the Boardman Team Carbon (far too common and out of Halfords) and the Ribble Sportive (a bit too brash with the colour scheme). I went with the Planet X because you are getting over £1.5k of bike for the cash - that's based on PX's own website prices for the components - and to me the only thing that really needs to be upgraded are the wheels (I've just ordered a pair of Mavic Ksryium Elites for PX). Even then my bike weighs less than 8kg.

So far I've ridden about 100km on the bike and I really like it. Nice and fast, nice and stable and pretty comfortable.

That's been really helpful I read a few articles elsewhere about it being out of date and wondered what could be meant by this apart from the mention in the lack of bb30 etc.

It's top of my list for sure, just hope it's still going in a month or so.
