The CTC website used to have an excellent article by Chris Juden which detailed sprocket pitches and gain ratios and all kinds of weird stuff that was necessary for anyone wanting to try out "Shimergo" or suchlike.

But it's gone !

Don't suppose anyone has a screen-dump of it ?

I was interviewed to be the CTC webmaster once, but I think I might have made my jokes about the head honcho's home town a bit ripe, and I can't remember if I told him I was also from said hick town.

I did also ping the CTC website as well as posting on here.
Following reply just received:
Dear Peter

The article you want is here: http://www.ctc.org.uk/cyclists-library/components/transmission-gears/derailleur-gears/shimergo. The front shifting article needs a load of work (which I haven’t got around to yet) before it’s fit to go on the new site. The page you linked to is a sad effort by someone else to tick a box, but is unfortunately much easier to find.
