Was in Charminster near Bournemouth last Sunday and visited "On Yer Bike". They had a good range of cruisers, one of which was an Electra Hawaii, 3 speed, red, with white wall balloon tyres. They were charging £400 for it. It didn't 'alf look nice and if it hadn't been a woman's bike I might have stuck it on the credit card.
Anyone own one of these types of bikes - they don't strike me as practical for any distance other than short and flat, and of course, that's not what they're for. I would have thought they'd be ideal for places like Bournemouth pier, but bikes aren't allowed most of the time during the day during July & August. I did have a short ride on a Nirve some month's ago, a really way out thing that the owner said I'd done well to actually stay on, but it wasn't bad - you're almost lying down.
Thoughts?
