Am I missing the point? All I can see them being is a method of turning people against cyclists.

They used to have in Lancaster the last Friday of every month... all they seemed to do was piss drivers off.

Lancaster has become a good city for cycling in recent years and I'm sure the critical mass lot think they should take credit for it... if it wasn't for our protests blah blah. A bit like the green party around here, they drop a news letter through the door full of crap that's 'on topic' and local, but bugger all to do with them. "residents complain about mess in ally and council clean it up" next to "Our green counsellor mr Wanky Tosspants has talked about more green spaces blah blah".

Hello

Bit off topic but on seeing your Avatar of the cover of Hawkwinds Space Ritual, did you know that their single Silver Machine
was a song written by Bob Calvert then front man about a silver bike that he had as a child.

That's my old avatar... (ctrl+F5 for new one) wasn't it about his mum's washing machine but the record company didn't think that suited their long hair so suggested they change it to silver machine?
