Credit where credits due.

As I have been a very loud advocate of Halfords bad service ought to give them credit where its due.
Took my bike down to local shopping center (merry hill) whilst being locked to the only bike rings provided my front end was bashed with a stack of trolleys pushed by a trolley attendant the result was a problem with front brakes and wheel. taking this into Halfords for repair under bike plan it was fixed a day later and have to say squishy front brake has been fixed possible buckle has been fixed and an assortment of other little problems, now its been done have to say this time job was done perfectly so as I was first to have a go when it wasn't done thought I ought to say this time it was done perfectly.

Have you also recently fallen into a barrel of shoot and come up smelling of roses?

Have had many bad experiences with that particular chain of shops so glad that there are some positive stories out there...it is still working isn't it???

well I have to say the jobs were done by someone who does actually seem competent

There are some decent Halfords out there, my local one is outstanding, but like with any chain there will be massive variability, just like one lbs isnt the same as every other.

Glad you got some good service and thanks for sharing.

I agree with Pikey.. The right person in Halfords can do a decent job but the range of people involved and staff turnover means that the actual quality of service you get is unpredictable.

The LBS has the same people who have more experience hence a much more predictable level of service.

I would be using local bike shop which is 5 minuites from me but I did buy the service plan when I bought the bike,on the other hand the Halfords I take it to is 2 and a half miles away there is one 3 minuites away but wouldn't trust them to oil the chain
