My daughter says the same. She lives at the top of a very steep hill & last week tried to find a route to work which didnt have a steep hill on it. She failed^_^

It's a conspiracy........I'm convinced I had the wind against me when I set off on my loop this morning yet on the way home it still seemed to be blowing against me!

We live in Scotland, Mo, the wind is always against us ^_^
Welcome to Cycle Chat, LBP, well done on your first ride! You will soon get confidence and strong legs!
It's ok to get off the bike and walk at busy junctions or roundabouts, do whatever you feel like as long as you enjoy the rides!

Good for you LBP. You're never too old - or too young.
It doesn't matter where you cycle, how far or for how long, just get out and do it.
We get a lot of mature beginners coming in to work to buy bikes, there was a chap in yesterday who was 72 and thinking it was about time he got back on a bike!

Well!! I thought I would have another go on the bike this morning. Got half way round the park - changed gears & my chain fell off along with breaking the chain guard  which fell off as well. I wasnt going to turn it upside down in the park to fix it so ended up walking home.. When I got home I managed to put the chain back on but the guard is bust. I got the hoover out to do a bit of tidying up & the handle snapped. Its not my day - I think i'd better go back to bed & start again

I'm sure you'll soon get that sorted - look for a friendly local shop. Leave the hoover in the cupboard!!

Just wanted to suggest you might want to look for a women-only ride near you. Check http://www.goskyride.com and click Find a ride and then put in your postcode. It looks like there are a few rides near you. They'll be on nice easy routes and there'll be an experienced leader to help you gain confidence.
