my new cannondale has started creaking when i am pedalling

someone said it may be the bb30 or it may be the pedals

i put the pedals on myself as the wife bought me the bike online they are shimano 105 spd

all i did was grease the spindle with grease then tighten them up

have tightened the cleat bolts on my shoes but still doing it

tried to film it on phone on the way home you can hear it clicking

Isolating the cause of noise can be a bit of a black art.

Have a look at this.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
check bolts on your chainrings and cranks
check the wire from front mech is not catching on the whhel
pedal one legged to see if its just one side.

As others have said the noise could be anywhere so its best to check everything , took me weeks to isolate a similar problem

I would suggest look at the pedals, i had exactly the same problem

cheers m8 any ideas what i should be looking for?

Seat post/saddle?
thanks for the suggestion but it's only when i peddle and deffo from down there somewhere

check bolts on your chainrings and cranks
check the wire from front mech is not catching on the whhel
pedal one legged to see if its just one side.

cheers m8 i have checked bolts and one was slightly lose but nothing major

cant see any wires from front mech hitting anything

from memory of last nights ride i would say more from the left but i will check later as on the last couple of rides it does'nt start until 10 12 miles in then gets gradually worse

OK, but that's when you create movement and change of weight distribution on your saddle as you pedal.

Good luck!
i have just given the saddle bolts an extra turn just to make sure

thanks for your advice just hope one of the things i am trying works

just popped in sandwell cycles on shell corner they were really helpful and he put it on the stand for a look

says the bb bearings are dry so will be min £5 labour charge but riding like it is wont knacker anything up until i get it sorted so all good i can still ride till they can get it in

Glad you sorted it.

A creak from the Headset area drove me crazy. It turned out to be the seat post creaking in the tube. cleaned and a bit of grease cures it for about six months.

Creaks on bikes have a weird way of sounding like they come from somewhere different on the bike.
