When I come off the saddle and pedal harder I seem to get a strange creak noise coming somewhere, is this generally from something being loose? Just to add I have a carbon frame, not sure if that makes any difference?

The creaking sound is a sign that something is creaking. Difficult to be any more specific than that given the info you've provided. Having said that, BB or bar/stem interface are the usual suspects.

Sounds like your knees are shot! Better give up cycling now before they get too much worse, and as a sign of how generous we are on CC, I'll give you a tenner for the bike now that you no longer need it.

yea I know it is really vague. If I had to point to an area I would say BB area, I will have a look and check torques. Cheers

You're not far from the truth. Deal, where shall I leave it?

lol if you change your mind and keep the bike just check everything for tightness around stem and handlebars before you use the bike again, its not much fun to have bars come of when you are standing on peddles and pulling hard on bars.

Just check everything as it creaks and adjust positions to try and eliminate.

Think....
Shoes (twist your feet to see if it foes)
Cleats( twist your feet to see if it goes)
Headset (can you ride with your hands in different positions)
Wheel dropnouts (make sure the skewer is being clamped)
Rims. Lean heavy on the headset and tip tube and roll the wheels to see if they creak

I hate creaks

Good luck

Will try this out, thank you.

Some good pointers to help with noises HERE :okay:

Also some info on press fit BB86 noises HERE :okay: (assuming this on the Forme Thorpe).

If it is the press fit BB you might have to get used to fettling it as IME they need a lot more lovin' tender care than the older systems that always worked perfectly well.

FWIW I converted my press fit BB, (BB30), to Hollowtech II as I was sick and tired of annoying noises, and apart from replacing it once due to normal wear it's been perfect and maintenance free ever since :okay:

My MTB had a similar problem about 2 years ago. I wish you luck because I never got to the bottom of it, and ended up bining the frame. Same components installed on new frame, not a squeak !
Could it have been the frame. I dunno ?
