It could be so many different things, but the most obvious things to check are whether the crank arms properly tightened,or even teh pedals. It may be a loose or worn bottom bracket, or knackered pedal axle/bearing.

Could be most almsot anything transmiting the creak althoughmy 1st check would be the tightness of the cranks arms , i had the same and it was bacuse the left hand crank was not tight enough.
Today i have hopefully solved an annoying creak as i found the chain ring bolts were not fully tightened.....

Agree it could be almost anything but on my bike a creak with each pedal rotation is usually a dirty seat post which needs a good clean, a pedal cleat which needs a drop of oil or a dab of grease required where the cable outers sit in the guides at the top of the down tube.

Weird huh? It really can be anything and will take a methodical approach to rule everything out.
