Hi, I'm after some advice please. Following on from this:

Unfortunately the problem wasn't solved, so I returned the bike on friday and they replaced the crank. All seemed good and I thought that was the end of it.

Then..... On my ride home tonight the bleeding creaking started again! Same side, each pedal rotation. Nothing if I pedal only with the right foot clipped in.

Should I ask them to change the bottom bracket do you think? I'm pretty fed up now and am spending a fortune driving back and forth to the shop.

Thanks

Check your cleats, and grease them ( assuming you are using them), I get it with my right one, I have to re-grease them every 2-3 weeks, for some reason it becomes more noticeable the further you ride, if you have checked this please ignore.

Opps already mentioned it.

Thanks, it definitely isn't my cleats though. I took my SPD's off and put the original pedals on and it still creaked.
Its definitely in the crank/bottom bracket area and I wondered if people thought it was reasonable to ask for a whole new bottom bracket.

I've sprayed grease on the springs of my SPD pedals the last 2 weekends, and that's considerably reduced some creaking noises I had. Perhaps give it a try? The spray I used was a can of white lithium grease.

Thanks but Tightening the bolts on the pedal arms stopped it temporarily (ie for a few miles), the shop fitting a new crank worked temporarily (ie a few miles more). And the creak is still there with different pedals.
Thanks again

My hybrid was doing summat similar. Turned out to be the bottom bracket.
It has been changed and is now blissfully silent.

Thanks all, have concluded it must be an issue with the bottom bracket - so packing it off back to the shop tomorrow.
Oh, my knees creak too - but this is a different type of creak
