Cravings?

for the last 2 days I have been craving bread/toast/scones etc

I know somewhere there is a chart that says what it is you are missing from your diet according to your cravings... anyone please? I am being driven up the wall by it literally....

dehydration is not an issue here...

not that I know about and it would need a really big miracle with my health issues! goes off to consider baking a cake... lemon drizzle cake sounds good....
I know I often crave foods in the autumn but its not normally bread/toast or cakes/scones... usually sweet stuff/nuts and the likes... this one is odd... its not carbs as such, potatoes are just not hacking it... rice or the likes not either...

If you find out, let me know. I am a breadaholic! It's the one thing I really couldn't live without. I usually go through a loaf every couple of days on my own.

we live off the stuff on tour, but lacking a proper oven here, I can't make anything except for flat breads on the griddle... I am so looking forward to the end of January when I am dog sitting for a month - we get her house as well and she has an aga... :biggrin: proper homemade bread :hyper:

BREAD: If you find yourself with a strong craving for bread, you may be experiencing simple carb-cravings, or your body could be searching to replenish depleted stores of the mineral selenium, found in flour. Switch to wholegrain bread or nibble one Brazil nut each day to satisfy cravings.

If you are just craving some bread and butter or toast, then more than likely your body is deficient in nitrogen which can be found in high protein foods (perhaps some eggs and/or chicken would do the trick).

so no wiser (given how little cycling I have done in the last 2 weeks) and given I live off wholegrain bread, wholemeal flour, brown rice, and eat lots of nuts - take a multivit that contains enough selenium and am most definitely not +ve for a certain test, had eggs for lunch, I am still at a loss and craving toast/bread/a scone - which I am rapidly running out of - scones that is... made a double batch yesterday and there are only 2 left:blush:. Might just go and drink another hot milk (almond milk that is...) :wacko:

Try strapping a hot water bottle to yourself. Or one of those hot wheaty-bag things. And as you say, drinking hot drinks. I have had loads of tea since the weather turned.

Cold/rainy weather, Dark evenings : Chocolate sales go up massively in this/next month
Comfort foods could be anything that you desire !
Unfortunately, I am allergic to dairy products (as opposed to intolerant to lactose)... this does restrict my snacking options considerably...:angel::angel:
luckily you have just reminded me about the choc chip hobnobs (which few people realise are actually vegan!) ^_^
it does also mean that I can only have the very best chocolate , you know that stuff that is dark, seriously expensive and every so yummy... :smooch:
sadly I don't have a job, so have to limit my intake :cry::cry::cry::cry:but I can :bicycle:some of the calories off during the day... now where are those hotel chocolate and booja booja websites again....:hyper:
