Since i was about 17 ive got cramp in my left calf during exercise, back then it was playing rugby, now its cycling. i know cramp is a standard response to exercise fatigue and should be expected when a bit unfit. however, this is weird as its only in once calf, quite localized to the upper calf.
i did m first race on Thursday (3rd from last btw) and got cramp in my calf about a third of the way in, i kept going and altered my pedaling to try and stretch it off, this time it felt like i was always on the brink of total lock up in this leg and by the end i could feel a solid lump in the back of the calf.
i did try to stretch off afterwords but it still feels like a solid (painful) lump.
What i wandered is: could this be due to a muscle knot or something in that leg, would some physio or something help? its a bit of a pain as this normally happens before the rest of me is at its limit. Or am i jsut looking for excuses for being unfit?
Cheers
