Evening, I know loads have done it but I just had to tell the world, cracked the 100 mile today helping a mate on a charity ride around the island. I am really proud of myself and my mate ! Times are not great but he did it at a steady pace and it was his challenge not mine.

For the record that was 4.5 times around the island, burning 4100 calories and climbing a total 3369 ft falling a total 3123ft with a 313ft climb four times !!!!

For more info why he did it

I just helped out as he is raising money for a cause close to my heart !

To anyone else who cracked the 100 today , yea us :-)

Well done indeed the pair of you. I took a mate on a Sportive today and he cracked 90 miles (I forgot to switch the computer on for circa 0.9 miles btw  ) and still looked fresh enough, he'll have to go for the ton the next time.

Many thanks, i admit to doing the same and having the computer off for a few hundred yards after a food stop. Didn't tell my mate though

Well done to you and your mate! My next target is to do a century but I think I've now left it too late for this year as I would need a good 10 hours daylight to complete it, allowing for a few stops. Got a route in mind, just waiting on a favourable wind, dry weather and a day off all to coincide .

well done ! ! - did my first century a week or so ago, and am still on a high . . .

Problem now is that anything less than a century on a long ride will be a disappointment - I did a 75 miler a few days after my century, and was gutted afterwards that I hadn't carried on for the extra 25 miles to get into 3 figures again . . . .:rolleyes:

Here for rides.
well done both. very well done. now watch out, century rides are addictive. I find my metric habit manageable but I like the odd imperial fix from time to time.
