Well its only been a few weeks, but the kids had a sleep over so hubby and I went out for the day and ended up with 54 miles [shock] Out to St Dogs treated to lunch back along the teifi valley a few pints ( Carlsberg of course) and then treated to a Chinese too !

Shattered.

Omg! Fantastic! Well done! I'm looking forward to doing my first 50 once my bike is fixed up with new tyres.

What had been your record before that? Sometimes it's good not to plan to do it. Just go out, enjoy it and the miles soon rack up!

Ive been doing 20 milers with a 30 being the best ive done, though a lot of that was downhill ( Im good going down not quite so good going up ! lol ) We go out for a ride together most Fridays, and we just said yesterday as we had the chance we would stay out all day. Enjoyed every minute despite a bit of rain and 2 punctures !

Doesn't food taste great when you've just done an extra-long bike ride? It's one of my favourite things about the long rides, you have a great appetite after the ride, and you tend to sleep better too.
Not too sure about the sleep bit, did you not notice the time I opened the thread ? lol

Probably still buzzing from the ride TBH

Well done. Great achievement. As for eating after a decent ride, I find I eat far too much

Well done - that's a big step up in one go!

It isn't much more to do a metric century - 100 km is about 62 miles. Look forward to doing a nice all-day ride in mid-summer sunshine, perhaps?
