... on the Trans Pennine Trail route (62), from Liverpool to Southport and back. 50.8 to be exact, in 3hrs 55 minutes, average speed of 12.9, max 23.5 (not lightening I know, but it's a heavy bike!).

The weather was perfect, not as busy as I thought it might be either. Thinking of heading east next time, towards Hull, maybe try for 60

I think you should aim for the full Liverpool to Hornsea route

Congratulations.
I would love to follow one of these trails but my navigations skills simply aren't up to the job!

Hi!

Congratulations!

Lynn and I are beginners and only joined this site today.

Can't wait until we crack our first "50".

It will be a while though!

MAPS are your FRIEND! Where are you from? I got really good maps from the Liverpool city council, covering Wirral, Liverpool and Sefton. It's got all the cycle routes on it, including the TPT all the way to Southpport.... you can get the maps for NOWT here... http://www.letstravelwise.org/

Well done, I did my first 50 miler yesterday to. Luckily enough I actually feel okay today....
