Looks like im a spanner and overtightened some aero bars on my barelli carbon bars. Slight cracks on the top, are the bars throw away now?
Aero bars moved when not tight though, an expensive lesson i guess!

Any recommendations on bars, dont have to be carbon, im a big ish lad, big shoulders!

How much does it cost to Oldham?
sling 'em!

Unless you're not particularly fond of yer teef.

I have worked with carbon fibre for many years through r/c gliders and they could be repaired,

But I would'nt risk it,carbon when it does go gives no indication, one minute it will be fine and the next

you could hit a pothole and instant failure,Then your face hits your stem

Get some old steel drops they might be heavy but they're bombproof

Ritchey torque key is nice and cheap and works for most bars and seat posts (and the M4 bit can be swapped out - just soak it in hot water for a couple of minutes to soften the glue and it'll pop out).

does it go in to the weave, or is the crack confined to the glaze?

hard to say, may just be the glaze but not sure

Don't risk it..catastrophic bar failure = quick trip to the hospital and eating through a straw for the next 6 months. Get a proper toque wrench (like the Park Tools TW1, and follow the torque specs..and you'll never repeat the problem.
