Got this Coventry Eagle last year, thought it was an interesting looking item albeit a ladies bicycle. I haven't been able to find any info on it how old and what model. It has a 3 speed cyclo oppy on it, a home made support for saddle bag, a standing Eagle on head badge, frame number A104240 at back of seat tube, CE cut out on on lamp bracket, wing nuts on wheels and a Middlemore saddle.

What a great find. No expert on vintage bikes but I'd say it's just pre war or slightly after. Plenty on the net about Coventry Eagle.
What are your plans for it?

Bikes sold in Britain between 1935 and 1955 had to have a white patch painted on their rear mudguard. Yours looks original so I'd say it was before or after that.

I've got about six 1930/40's ladies bicycles in similar sporty look all with cable brakes , a Sunbeam, a New Age bicycle. a BSA with flip flop wheels. a Sunbeam/ BSA crossover 1943-1947. the Coventry Eagle. an unknown one in poor condition framed number on headstock H970 ( the only reason I've kept it ) and a gents Hercules 1939 bicycle with War Grade tyres on it, the only one I'll probably keep. They're stored indoors in my spare room at moment.

The brake callipers look more or less the same as my mid 30s ladies Hercules. The headstock badge looks different to my chaps' '42 Coventry Eagle - any chance of a clearer shot? Mudguards look more 40s or later than 30s, but it seems to be a bike that has been kept on the road by a practical person rather than some antediluvian originality freak.
