Could you help me identify this vintage bike ?

One of my neighbours cleaned out her old shed. She found an old vintage bike, she is an older lady. She gifted me the bike as she does not need it anymore. I am much appreciated and I love it !!
I just want to know a little more about the bike. I have tried to look into it but I’m getting no where ! Is the bike worth restoring? Should I keep it in the original form ?
I asked the lady how old the bike may be but she does not remember 😞...
greatly appreciate comments on the bike !

Should have said welcome, too!

If you like the bike clean it up, maybe get a local bike shop to give it a service and then enjoy it! Once sorted out it will give you years of use.

Well it’s not the one that goes under the channel and connects London and Paris . Seriously it looks okay and could be made into serviceable transport but I can’t really tell from the low res pics. ID is as @All uphill suggests, a KTM Dutch style step through frame city bike with a hub gear.
I’m assuming you’re not too Savvy bike mechanics wise so maybe find a local bike mechanic or shop who can do it for you. It might need a lot of work which may be several times the worth of the finished bike. I’m guessing you’ll need a bare minimum of new tyres/tubes, cables, brake blocks, general clean and lube.
The very first thing to do with it is find spanner or Allen key that fits the bolt holding the seat post in below the saddle on the frame a, loosen it by turning anti clockwise and see if you can twist the saddle which in turn should move the post. If it's really rusted in the project could be a non starter . Hopefully it will move with a bit of force.
Only you know if it’s worth doing. Good luck with whatever you decide.
BTW welcome to the forum.

Whereabouts are you? There may be a member local to you who could help you out with it.

Welcome to the forum.

The last photo has the head tube decal stating Made in W. Germany - dating it as pre reunification. I thought KTM were an Austrian company and Kettler to be German.

I like it whatever - have a lot of time for these practical everyday town bikes:smile:
