Hi all,
I'd love to fit a gorgeous porteur rack to my '59/60 Triumph but the gorgeous chrome and wooden things are so expensive! I love being a bit crafty so I'm determined to get this look much cheaper. I read about someone who got a standard front rack and used that along with a chopped up shopping basket and came up with something pretty cool looking, and I thought why not try!
In my hunt for a cheap front rack to use as a base I came across this - http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q..._suspension_fork_mount___26_or_29inch___black There isn't a non suspension version available, especially not at that price. Do you think I could play with this and make it fit in some way? I apologise if this is a really stupid question, those on my other thread will know this is my first adult bicycle and you have to talk slow to me with advice :-) I'm very crafty (as in I like craft, not that I'm devious!) but never been very 'grrr' hands-on before now, and haven't owned a bike since I was a little kid, so everything I do on this bike is new to me.
My husband is a lot more practical so if chopping metal, etc is involved it can be done :-)
I didn't mean the pun in the title, ie. a butcher's rack, but its just dawned on me!
