I generally use KMC but did fit one of those (customer supplied) to a Carrera Virtuoso on a 2 x 8 set up.... he popped in and asked if I could replace it... so a small charge from me gained me future business....

Is KMC superior to Shimano? Doing some searches on it, seems that KMC make Shimano chains. Is that right?

I wonder if I should just count the links on my current chain to be sure and just get a chain with the same number of links?

If I were to get a chain with quick link I would need to get a tool to break the chain I guess.

Thanks for all you help everyone.

KMC X8-93 or better.

I prefer the quick links over the stupid pin that shimano use.

8 speed chains are ideal for 6,7,8 speed.

TBH I run 9 speed chains on both 8 speed bikes as the slightly narrower chain reduced chain rub on front mech. PS the chainring are 8,9,10 compatible

Put one of these in with your chain order and the world of chains will be your lobster.

It will bring you up to free p&p status, and there may be a small bag of sweets as well.
