Converting drop bar to Riser Handlebar

Hi,

A friend of mine has a Scott Speedster 40 compact and wants to convert it to a flatber/riser type as she loves the bike but not the way-forward riding position.
She has adjusted the saddle etc but still wants to go to hybrid type.

I can get the bars and road brake levers for flat bar, but need some advice re the shifters insofar as the compatability with Shimano Sora 3500.

Any advice?

These will work. You can save some money if you don't mind going to 8 speed.
