Again, probably showing my ignorance, but could you convert a Time Trial bike - difficulty rating? (not that I would consider attempting it). Any other pitfalls - is it a bad idea?

Just asking as I saw a clinker on Gumtree, wondering if it would be worth the bother/expense to convert.

What are you trying to convert a TT bike into?.

It depends on the geometry - usually you get a really stiff mutha which has been designed for speed before comfort.

the link doesn't work for me so can't see what bike we are talking about.

Oh -that one.

Nice bike but it will be very stiff as I have said - also sidewinds might be an additional problem and it looks as though it will be very twitchy.

Wouldn't advise it - esp at that price.

+ 1 and if spending that kind of money , there are a lot more proper road bikes that wont need more money spending on them to convert .

not my cup of tea

+1 for the avoid conversion comments. TT bikes are also like American cars, they don't corner well

For the money it seems an utterly pointless exercise IMO.

Real road bikes don't corner well when you add deep section stiff wheels and tt bars.....
