Hello again,

Many of you have helped me last time when I ran a survey about cycling motivations which I am very grateful for. I am running more studies on transport and environment more generally. This one concerns congestion charges (among others) which have a big impact on cycling experience in cities. As I did last time, I will update the thread with my findings! Cheers.

Got halfway through, binned it. The survey is too broad, seems not to recognise the more than half of oil production not used as fuel but goes into plastics, fertilisers, medicines, etc.

Hi there, do you mean that cutting fossil fuel subsidies will have an effect on things other than fuel prices? That's a fair point. I'm only highlighting fuel prices as one of the things that people might immediately notice as a result, though.

Am I supposed to say that this applies to me on the grounds that I don't have a car, or say that it doesn't apply in an attempt to disagree with the premise that the alternatives adequate?

Hmm good question, I guess it's implicitly assuming that people have a car. I reckon if you feel that cycling is an adequate alternative then 'applies to me' would be best..

I didn't understand the questions of the form "x is fair for me" "x is fair for y other than me". So I just answered not sure.

Same here.
