it turns out that there's a club event on the same day as a ride organised on bikeradar which i'd hoped to participate in.

the club ride is an annual event, and is marginally longer than the forum ride, and both are quite hilly, so i can't really use distance/gradient as a splitter.

at the moment i reckon the club ride trumps the forum ride.

whatcha reckon?

Show your loyalty to the club, I'd say.

You know what you're getting with a club ride.

The forum ride will be a mixed back and, in all probability due to the compromise required to accommodate everyone, unlikely to be satisfying.

So, unless you're more interested in socialising rather than riding, I'd go on the club ride.

I would too, but I wonder why the forum ride isn't a club ride. If people are organising rides then attaching them to the rides list of your local CTC or BC club isn't a bad idea, for no other reason than the rides leader's insurance.
