Hi all,

My wife came home from work last night with a present for me.........some compression clothing (shorts and T Shirt). Apparently Aldi had them reduced from £15 down to £4.99..Great.

My question is, what do I do with it? How/when do I use it ?

Thanks.

Errr, you wear it? The theory IIRC is that it helps with blood flow meaning less fatigue and quicker recovery time.

I have some Skins and Canterbury stuff myself and wear it regularly but mostly because it is very comfortable.

Hi Michaelcycle,
:laugh: I was waiting for a "put your left leg in first" type answer.
So do i just wear it under my normal cycling gear? I like the sound of quicker recovery too.
Thanks. i will give it a whirl.

Ah, a winter base layer. It was reduced because it was missing its packaging so i have no idea. That sounds like a good idea. Ta.

I seen these in Lidl/Aldi (one of them) at weekend, are they any good as a base layer for the winter?

Depends on what you want the garment for. A base layer is general better for keeping you dry as it wicks sweat away and compression clothing is to support muscles. However there is some cross over (you can get compression base layers for example...)

I usually wear compression layers at the gym or when my ride is going to be less than two hours or so.

You put your left leg in, your left leg out, in, out, in, out...

Yes, you can wear it underneath your normal cycling stuff except for bib shorts which should have a chamois pad so wear them next to your skin.

The Aldi ones are not particularly warm, especially when wet from rain as opposed to damp from sweat, so a base layer for Autumn and not too cold is my view. Of course we are all different so you have to try it yourself.

Yes, unless you put the t-shirt on first....

then it is the right leg.
Is that my right, or your right? Keep in mind that I'm Down Under, so left and right are completely different here. While your hardware stores may sell right-handed screwdrivers, ours only sell the left-handed ones .
